First, I am not a techie. My question is fairly simple. We have Verizon/Frontier internet. I'm assuming that this router needs to be installed at the same location as my Verizon/Frontier modem (not centrally located) via an ethernet cable? Thx!
Centrally located using an ethernet cable is perfectly acceptable. Best location for most effective coverage for your situation is what I would recommend.

Can anyone recommend the best ethernet cable (possibly send a link or manufacturer name and model) I should use to run approximately 100 feet between my modem and this router? Thanks!
Actually that distance can be covered by any ethernet cable, but your internet speed will determine what is needed. However, to answer your question "best ethernet cable" you must go with the Cat-6a. See the attached chart thanks to How-To-Geek.com.

Any issues with adding 2nd router in metal garage?
I already have wireless router in the house, but want to add the Belkin Wireless AC router to our metal garage so we have internet there. Are there any issues we need to address? Will there be any conflicts with the house router vs the garage router?
You should have no conflicts with the other router as long as you use a different IP Address for it. But if you let take you through the automated configuration it should be fine. The metal building might be your only issue with signal, but if you stay inside the building it shouldn't be an issue.
