Bought these for my living room (small area) and they fill the whole house. I am only using them in stereo but they will certainly be included as i continue to expand up to surround sound. Great choice if you don't want to spend all your lunch money on bookshelf speakers. I would recommend them for either front or surround speakers. They give a great range of sound. Love em. Can't go wrong with Polk.

What else I also need to setting it? Cable? Thank you.

Yeah you'll need speaker wire to connect them to a receiver. Over estimate how long a spool of wire you buy.

Will these speakers perform in a garage environment? Wasn't sure if they would warp or degrade.

Should be great in that setup depending on how empty your garage is. The sound will bounce off walls very nicely. I would consider extreme temperatures though if you're in an are that gets really cold or is really dusty. But they would sound great in a garage is say.
