I bought this receiver to use for its A+B speaker capability to play music on outdoor speakers and/or indoors. The only thing that is trick about it is finding the right settings that work because the booklet isnt helpful and only certain settings allow for the use of the B speakers only. Its hard to figure it out because you need to change certain settings in the menu and keep checking to back to see if the receiver will now "open" the availability of other capabilities that were previously not allowed. One you configure thought the system is great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Setting up A/B switching for 2 audio zones

The best buy web site indicates that you can set up 2 audio zones. I have a home theater in my family room (a 5/1 config) and I have 2 outdoor speakers on my deck to play music outside.I do not see a good description of how to do this in the manual. can anyone explain how this is done?
I believe only certain speaker patterns allow for the use of A and B speakers separately. I have my speaker pattern under the speaker selection of the amp menu set to 3/2.1. I rarely use the speakers indoor so i usually leave that same setup for my indoor system even though it should can be changed to be better, but I would rather not change it each time I want to switch between A+B. If you want to switch back and forth between indoor and outdoor setup for the best setup then you need to change the speaker patter each time as well as the speakers selected. Hope this helps.
