What's great about it: Features galore and a super quick start up.
What's not so great: The grip could be better since you'll most likely be doing adventurous things with it.
I've recently upgraded to this camera from the Pentax Optio WG-2, which I loved. Unfortunately, it stopped working after a week of salt water exposure while on vacation. Luckily, I had the 3 year protection plan and received the full worth of that camera to go towards a new one. After much research, I settled on the TG-3. Although it took almost 2 months to actually get the camera (put on back order 3 times), it seems to have been worth the weight. I will be taking it on a 4 day backpacking trip and really put it through it's paces. If for some reason it fails to meet my expectations, I'll update this review.

When will this be available ?

when will the TG-3 in black be available ?
It should be available now. I had to wait 2 months for it to be sent. It kept being put on backorder. But it looks like you can order and do a store pickup within a few days.
