I've used this product in the past and just bought a new one for my current setup. It's very simple to install and works with any system with bare wire connections. The transmitter to receiver distance is more than adequate for most homes. Unless you're an audiophile, you wont notice any degradation to the sound quality.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will this work with any brand of speaker? I bought a Sony surround sound system but the rear speakers are wired. This kit has slots for bare wire but my speakers have plugs for the receiver. How do I make this work?

You have two options. You can buy the surround kit that has connectors that match your speakers. I've seen them on Amazon but I don't know if Best Buy sells them. The other option is to remove the connectors from the speaker cable and strip some of the plastic off the wiring so you can connect to this kit. It's your choice but I'd remove the connectors. Leave a couple inches on the connector end when you remove them in case you want to reattach later. It won't affect the sound of your speakers unless you're dealing with high quality audiophile speakers (you're not).
