Easiest printer I've ever set up and it's wireless printing too! Small footprint, looks good. Easy to use. Inexpensive. This is my 3rd HP printer. I was happy with the first 2 and I believe I'll be very satisfied with this one also. What I don't understand is why a printer just stops working with no prior warning. My previous 2 printers were working just fine one minute and then I tried to print something and no go, would not print at all, wouldn't feed paper. The print cartridges would not align and then it dawns on me that I need another new printer. This has now happened 3 times., with my last 2 HP printers and my first printer which was an Epson.
Is there any manufacturer making printers that last longer than a few years before they just give out and die????????????????????????" Since I got my first computer and printer, I've averaged 6.5 years lifespan on the first 3 printers. They work flawlessly until one minute they just don't work at all!. Very frustrating.

Will this printer scan without ink cartridges?
My current all-in-one won't let me scan unless I have full ink, and it won't let me print black and white unless I have color cartridges. Will this one let me?
I haven't tried to scan without cartridges in the printer, but since scanning uses no ink it should work. That's what logic would dictate but when dealing with computers and peripherals, you can't always depend on logic.

double sided won't stop!!
ok ipad user, got it printing but.....when doing the airprint thing, i chose not to do double sided, this is for a long list, which should take two pages for the total list and only need one copy, only want PAGES, not double sided page with part of list on one side and rest on the back! so "unchoose" double sided option. i've tried just choosing print 1 page, tried choosing print 1-2 pages and of course all pages! if i "unchoose" double sided option, all that comes out is blank pieces of paper no matter how many pages i choose! eeekkk cannot figure this out! no preferences on printer i can find and just cannot get it to print out separate pages of my list! thx for any help! everyones been great on here!
Have you tried asking HP customer Service about your problem?
I had the same problem some time ago and tried the things you've tried and It resolved the problem for me, but that was on a different model HP printer. I would also try re-starting your computér after you make those changes on your printer.

Is this printer compatible with 32 bit and 64 bit computer OS?
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be.

It won't print after I changed cartridge ..says it needs to be connected to wireless and it is!
I changed cartridge and followed instructions but now it doesn't print...says it needs to be connected to wireless and it is!
I've never had this problem so I have no solution. . My best guess why weird things like this happen is because the printers own operating software is defective.
