Works fairly well but the closer to the router the better, best if placed upstairs directly above the router to cover an upstairs floor, good value for the money.

Works ok unless you're on slightly lower ground, purchased 2 of these in order to catch signals from 2 different directions but it took a long time to dial them in, their website is not accurate on showing antenna locations in Michigan so you need to research them more thoroughly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I will be in a hotel for a week, will this device help boost wifi in the hotel room

Will increase it but marginally unless you're above or below the router, if so it will perform better, must have the id and password

How far does it range?

If placed above the router or below and close to a direct line up or down it works well in long homes and about 50 Feet outside
