I've owned Netgear products for 15 years. Netgear is always simple to setup, always performs. This modem is parked beside a Netgear 'B band Wi-Fi Router' from 2004 that still works flawlessly. This should testify as to my trust in Netgear.
Great modem/router that far outperforms boxes bundled by cable providers. I ordered 50Mbps service thru Time Warner. Their modem/router never broadcast above 30Mbps. With this Netgear box I always see soda above 50Mbps, routinely 70+.
Great modem/router box for the money.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is there an iOS app that can be used to control the tv?

d/k about iOS, but there's no android app. this isn't a very 'smart' TV. I cannot find a way to add additional channels other than the ones on remote (Netflix, Vudu, Hulu, AccuWeather, some kids channel.)
there is NO WEB BROWSER despite having a cat5 connection?
but, with 3 HDMI & 2 USB ports, even a VGA for a computer connect. for the price & picture quality it more than justifies grabbing a Roku, etc.

Can i connect my home phone line to it ?

No. This modern does NOT route telephone lines.
