Works well and is a perfect size for a tablet. Seems like it will last as I use 3-4 times weekly to plug my surface directly into our smart boards HDMI input.

Charger does what it should. Only recommendations would be ro make cord a bit longer, and provide a USB option.

What's great about it: Easy set up, great picture quality
What's not so great: Buttons on blu ray player are on top, small and hard to read
Easy set up, great quality, and space saving. Only downside is that the buttons on the player itself are on the top, are very small and hard to read. Ours is inside of a media cabinet on a shelf, so this may. to be a problem for those who will have it sitting in the open.

What's great about it: Easy set up, slashed cable bill, plenty of content
What's not so great: No real parental controls
Our time warner bill had been running around $230 for turbo internet, phone, and HD TV. We found that we mainly watched a handful of channels regularly, and most we had DVR'd. We bought a roku3 to replace our cable, and a magic jack to replace the phone service. Now we pay 75 for turbo internet and basic cable for local news/ sports, 8 for Netflix, 8 for hulu plus , 99/yr for amazon prime. Along with magic jack at 5 per month, we cut our cable bill down to 105/ month.
The content for the roku is great, quality is excellent and there is a ton of content for my wife, 7 year old sonand I. The search function is great, as it allows you to search all sources, where the appleTV only allows searching through one source at a time. Along with Amazon Prime, the a roku was the best choice for us vs the AppleTV. They need to come up with some parental controls. The only way currently is to enter a young age for yourself when you enter your profile during the Roku setup, and making some changes to the DNS settings on your router to filter out certain content from accessing your home network. This does affect all devices connected to your network, not just the roku. This was fine for us, but may not be for everyone.

By connecting this Blu Ray Player to my Samsung SMART TV, can I eliminate having to hard wire the player for internet access?

I am asking this question because my TV is wireless and is part of my home network already but this player is not wireless and would normally need to be hard wired (ethernet cable) to get internet access. Problem is I do not have hard wire access in that room - so again I am wondering if being hooked up to the TV it will have internet access via the TV? I understand if the Blu Ray player needs to update it's firmware it needs internet access and that's why this is important to me.
Are you sure that your model isn't wireless? We don't have ours hard wired and can stream netflix, etc through it to our tv.

No. It will let you access select streaming sites like netflix, pandora, etc
