What's great about it: Well made, pretty easy to set up and it sounds amazing.
What's not so great: I really wish it had auto-return. If it had auto-return, this unit would be perfect
Great turntable. I was so impressed with the sound quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sony - USB Stereo Turntable - Black

Experience the nostalgic sound of vinyl with this fully automatic belt-driven turntable that supports 33-1/3 and 45 rpm record playback speeds and features a USB output for importing your favorite records' tracks to a PC.

Why do my records play way faster than they should?

Both 33 and 45 records play way to fast, they were playing normally. Then after about four uses it started playing them fast.
This model has a speed adjustment (the slide bar on the right of the turntable.) Sounds like someone has been playing with that. Slide the bar back to the normal setting and the records will play at the correct speed. This bar is on there for DJs to get creative with vinyl to convert to audio files.

Does Audio Technica turn-table connect to Win7 computer?

Will the Audio Technica AT-LP120-USB Record Turntable connect to Win7 allowing use of Media Player on computer? I want to play 78/33/45 rpm records and then listen to them on my computer's speakers. Also, would like to digitize the records, converting to WAV format.
Yes. This will work with Win 7. The software provided is actually free ware (you can download it yourself online for free). it works fairly well. You can convert your 78,33 & 45 to WAV files with the included software.

Need A Receiver to Work?

I recently got the AT-LP120 as a gift but have not been able to use it because I think it needs a receiver to work. Is that correct? I have a sonos playbar, a TV with 3.5mm jack and USB port, and a blu ray player with a USB port and I was hoping I could just plug it into one of these but none produce sound. Help.
You need something with an audio input in order to get sound. The turntable has a built-in amp, however, you need something to send that sound to speakers. You could hook this up to your computer USB and play through your computer's speakers.

Do I also need to purchase a needle?

Comes with a needle and cartridge. Pretty darn good one too. You could spend another $100-150 to get a premium needle, but the one that comes with this model is quite nice.

Does this have auto return at the end of play?

No auto-return. This is the only feature this unit is lacking. If it had auto-return, it would be perfect. Sounds really great, especially for $250

Will this work with a regular (1990s) stereo (Analog)?

I am an old timer with records going back into the 60s & 70s. My old turn table has stopped working. Would this turn table work without a PC. I want to keep the sound with my amp/reciever.
Yes. this turntable will work wonderfully with a stereo system from any modern period. I use mine with a 1988 Onkyo system.

Do you have to buy speakers seperate?

Yes, You must have some kind of speaker system to use this. Turntables generally don't have built-in speakers.
