I looked at all of the reviews for the portable DVD players that Best Buy had for sale. I literally sat in the aisle and compared the boxes as well. I ended up with this item and I could not be happier. Even though some review mentioned that you had to play separate DVDs and each player, I found a cable that connected both players and allowed both players to show the same movie at the same time. This was a great way to entertain a 2 year old and a 3 year old in a road trip to California. It was also better than an iPad because you can control what the are watching.
It has to be hooked up to a power source to work (no battery pack), but it comes with both a car adapter and the ability to plug it into a wall.
I had also read a review where it said that you couldn't forward through to the menu. This was also incorrect. The buttons to do this are on the top of the player, not the front where it is easier for kids to touch these buttons.
If you are considering this product, I would tell you to go for it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does this come with a remote?

No remote is included. But if you think about it, that's just one more thing to lose.
