This is how an electronic "ancillary" item SHOULD work: Open the package, install batteries and it works with a variety of equipment--as advertised. Excellent design and thorough testing are apparent. Worked well with my six-year-old MacBookPro.

Fast read/write capability is ideal for storing large Audacity and MP3 files. The flash drive's 32 GB capacity accommodates all files necessary to create an entire audiobook version of "The Permit," a 592-pg. novel.

It's the receiver that ensures the computer and remote "talk" to each other.

is it mac ready? Of is formatting required before storing files?

It worked well on my MacBook Pro without any formatting.
