Per her request, I bought it for my wife because we no longer wanted to pay for cable & didn't watch it much in the first place. However, it wasn't obvious on the box that you have to subscribe to TiVo to use the component. Depending on how you pay, its $12-15 per month which is pretty cheap. Anyway, took a little while to get used to all the menus & commands but works very well. She records a lot of shows, which is what she was mostly doing with cable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Glad I went for standard connector plating. This cable work fine and I'm sure I wouldn't notice any difference between these and gold plated.

Not impressed by the signal. OK but no better than the rabbit ears I was planning to replace.

Is there a monthly fee for tv roamio dvr just to record shows on free tv with an antena, no cable?

Yes, depending on how you pay, $12-15 per month.
