Will this enhance the HD quality of the HD I'm paying for already in my DVR box from Direct TV ?

Don't believe you can run two input signals into the sam input jack. You'd have to have two inputs on your TV and simply switch between the two sources - either the Antenna/Cable input or some other HDMI/computer input - watching one source at a time.

What does the actual antenna attach to? I understand the cable end plugs into the TV, but what does the floppy flat thing attach to? (Wall?, TV, or?)

It attaches to the cable running into your TV, as well as a power plug (unless you get the non-amplified).

Does this device need to be near a window?

My TV is in the middle of my house and I can't hang it by a window without the cord going across a doorway

Not necessarily, but if you could, the signal stands to be better. We have one in our basement mounted on a north wall. The basement has NO WINDOWS, and the signal is great - good HD and clear, sharp picture, AND the picture doesn't break up any more than the one upstairs. You'd just have to experiment with placement and angle.

What is the range for this antenna to pick up broadcast TV signals?

Don't know your area or where you live, but we live in Omaha and can pick up Lincoln's PBS.

CAN I PUT THIS ANTENNA IN THE GARAGE ATTIC AND GET A GOOD RECEPTION?

I suppose you could, but remember, the longer the cable run from the antenna to the TV, the more signal loss/interference you'll get - like anything else.

I currently have a Leaf 30 but can't get FOX or NBC both have a signal strength of 32, way below the other channels, will a Leaf 50 work better?

I believe you would be quite satisfied with the Leaf 50 - we get all the Major networks (ABC/CBS/NBC) local channels, Fox, Grit, PBS (2), 3.1, 3.2, 6.1, 6.2, 7.1 7.2 and a few in-between that and 42.2.

Mohu Leaf 50 UHF/VHF

The UHF and VHF channels in my area are the same distance to my house. The antenna reads VHF (channels 8 & 10) but it doesn't pick them up. Is there something else I need to do or buy to get those channels?

I'm no expert, but have you told your TV that the signal is now a different 'source' and have you run the 'auto program/seek' function on your TV to pickup those channels? We just have the Moho and we get channels 3.1 - 43.2 (a few in-between which has a signal, but no picture), but those are so few, it really doesn't matter - for for the money we're saving on DTV or cable!

if i place the antenna on the wall behind my wall mounted tv would i still get a good reception?

Yes - the higher (naturally) the better. However, I have one mounted behind the TV in our finished basement, low enough so when you are seated, it isn't distractive to your view, and the signal is just as good as the one we have in the living area upstairs, laying flat on the credenza.

The range depends on which one you purchase - the two I purchased are 50 Mile, but I believe there may be one up to 70 Miles.

Uploading DVD collection

My main purpose for this unit would be to upload my DVD collection and music files. I want the ability to access these files over the internet from my electronic device (phone, laptop). Is this possible?

My understanding is that you can access any and all data stored on your Seagate personal cloud by remotely accessing it from their website, then inputting your password. I didn't try a DVD file, but I did access a Word file from my computer while away from home on someone else's wi-fi. My understanding is you can access it from any device as long as you know your password and their website address (which they provide you).
