Worked well when I was snorkeling and such in hawaii. However, one evening during a wedding, the lense was fogging up on me even though I had these and the skeleton back door on. Nor was it a particlarly humid night.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Im only giving it three stars because of the necessity of having to buy a second and its relatively short. But I guess with a camera as small as a gopro, battery life can only be so long. 2 batteries will get you through a day of pretty good use.

If you're taking your gpro into muddy water, deep water, or any kind of watery environment where itll be hard or impossible to find if you drop it, youd be a fool not to get this.

Bought this camera before a trip to Hawaii, and it was worth every penny, at the time. Very shortly after I bought it, gopro announced their Hero4 line, so I did return it because the hero4 silver comes with an lcd screen and a couple better updates at the same price I paid. The price for hero3+ black has since dropped by $50.
But were it not for the new hero4, id have surely kept the three. It really does seem to not only do everything, but it does it awesomely. We went cage diving with sharks in Hawaii and the under water footage and still shots are amazing. Even though you can pull stills from the video, I like that it gives you the option to take stills at certain intervals while filming. I tried it at night riding my bicycle around the city, not too shabby but not as stunning imagery at night. The time lapse works great, I tried it on a sunset at sunset beach. Next time, ill probably just record regular video and speed it up or slow it down with the editor, though. And coming from someone who has not ever once edited a movie or put one together, gopros studio software is easy to use.
Negatives - short battery life. Def buy a second battery or two. I took a spare to hawaii and am darn glad I did. Next is the lack of touch/lcd screen, unless you buy one. Its def not a deal breaker though, because you can use the app to frame a shot. Also its such a wide angle lense, its hard to miss something if you just point the camera at it.
All in all, i think this is a great camera, but unless the price drops even more, id just spend the extra 50 on a hero4 silver.

Can you control the GoPro via an android app? In particular, I would like to be able to control the GoPro from my Galaxy Pro tablet.
Yes, just go to the app store and download thr gopro app.
