1) I rate small as; (Dell T1700 Mini-Tower (256GBSSD, 1TB7200ATA, w/1GB AMD FirePro Video, RWDVD @ 290W, 120V, approx 2.2A Current Draw Typical, 24" LED Monitor @ 16W typical to 74W max,1.5A Current Draw Typical; Epson WF-4630 inkjet @ 7.5W Idle - 20W Copying approx .4-.8A Current Draw. ESTIMATED TOTAL Watts = Approx 371W.
2) This unit is RATED for a MAX Load of 450Watts, so in a power outage condition you should be able to save and close Work Files, Game, whatever and shutdown - just don't lolly-gag around - you probably have 3-5 minutes.
3) Nice thing about this UPS unit, which is more commonly available than 10 years ago...CyberPower includes a auto-shutdown software product with it and a USB cable to connect the UPS to your computer. Install the software, and tell it under what condition you what the system to SAVE FILES and Shutdown, during a power outage the UPS & Software close everything out and does a controlled shutdown of your computer. If you are prone to leaving MS Outlook, Spreadsheets, Adobe PhotoShop, Game files, etc. open adn walking away from your computer...this is a great way to save yourself a lot of pain from damaged and/or corrupted files. That is no to say that I recommend leaving ANY files open EVER to say nothing of UNSAVED. Not sayin', just sayin'.
4) PLUGINS - The Unit provides SURGE SUPRESSION connections for CABLE systems, DSL/Phone systems, and Ethernet network connections; FOR POWER you get EIGHT (8) 3-prong outlets with spacing to handle a couple of wide block accessory power packs.
5) Cypber Power also provides an equipment guarantee should a piece of equipment get damaged during a storm/outage (see Cyber Power documentation in package for details). I have collect on these guarantees from another manufacturer. You have to do a little documentation, but it is not hard to do, you toast a $800.00 or $1800.00 computer, or a $150-$400.00 monitor, they will replace it. These people are designing (as in engineering) and building devices to protect YOUR computer equipment from power damage. They believe in what they are doing and are willing to put their reputation on the line. If their device fails and you are taking a loss, they look bad, but they are willing to standby the buying public and do their best to make it right with their guarantee...and these companies do. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS. And REGISTER YOUR PRODUCTS.
It is hard to get much more runtime from a UPS Backup system at this price. Let's just say I have "absorbed alot of voltage" over 44 years as a computer systems/network engineer... I GIVE CYBERPOWER 3 THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE :-)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Help ensure the safety of your equipment with this APC BE350G UPS that features 3 battery back-up and 3 surge-protected outlets. A 365-joule rating offers a high level of energy absorption.

How long will this Battery Baack-up power last w/4ma draw? Minutes? hours?

Please answer above question
I don't have a run-time calculator but: It's a really long time...
A= W/V .4mw/120V = .000000333333333 A

Watts = .4
Volts = 120
AMPS = .000000333333333
What only draws .4 mw that you want to protect on UPS? Just curious...
hope this helps a bit, sorry, I don't have formula for runtime extraction.

Battery Low

I have purchased this and now it is saying my battery is low, am I able to purchase just a new battery for this? If so does best buy carry just the battery?
1) All ifo you need on (you only list 350VA so I am assuming here):
http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BK350&tab=documentation
2) Go to to the link above which lists manuals for APC Back-Ups BK 350/500 and APC Back-Ups CS 350/500 (they both read the same). Open either manual, scroll down the right side 'til you see ORDER REPLACEMENT BATTERY: last line says: When ordering, please specify Battery Cartridge RBC2. You can order through APC dealers or direct: 800-800-4272

3) Yes, you can replace battery plan on this every 4-6 years. Depends on how often you discharge your batteries; Replacement is very simple very simple...follow instructions in the guide. Probably should have 1 Standard, 1 Phillips #2 screwdriver and a pair of standard or short needle nose pliers (handles insulated). Screwdrivers are just to get the case apart, needle nose pliers are helpful gripping the "stake-on" connectors that clip onto the battery contacts.

Good luck hope this helps.

why no back up par?

My Back-ups 650 works fine on the surge side but the backup side does not give any power. Why?
Milt,

1) This is the APC User Manual and Specifications site for the Back-Ups 650 (and ES 650) unit. Just Google "Manuals specifications for Back-Ups 650". Also, in case all else fails - The Number for APC CUSTOMER CARE (Also known as Schneider Electric the past 5 years or so): 800-800-4272.

2) First, I have used and placed a dozen or so of these type units over the past 10 years. I am now an IT manager/network engineer of about 44 years in this business. even after 44 years, I still only know a fraction of what I'd like to. Will give this my best shot: The user guide under STATUS INDICATORS makes reference to "...power only delivered from the BATTERY LOAD outlets..." and CHECK IF BATTERY LOW IS INDICATED (RAPIDLY FLASHING)? IF SO, REPLACE BATTERY PACK: PART # RBC17 - NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE BACK-UPS ES 650, DO NOT ORDER THIS UNTIL YOU CALL APC CUSTOMER CARE AND CONFIRM WITH THEM THAT THE RBC17 IS CORRECT FOR THE PLAIN VANILLA BACK-UPS 650 ALSO.

3) BOTTOM LINE, I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF LOSING POWER ON ONE SIDE OF OUTLETS. IT COULD BE THOUGH THAT APC DESIGNED IT THIS WAY THAT IF POWER RESERVE IS LOW, THE SYSTEM CUTS OF POWER TO THE SURGE PROTECTED SIDE IN ORDER TO CONSERVE POWER FOR BATTERY DELIVERY. HOW OLD IS THIS UNIT? LAST APC AT HOME LASTED ME 8 YEARS, THOUGH RUN TIME WAS FALLING OFF THOSE LAST 2 YEARS...IT MAY BE TIME TO REPLACE BATTERY, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS BEEPING ON A REGULAR BASIS.

HOPE THIS HELPS, BEST LUCK AND SORRY IF I DID NOT HELP.
