I am in the process of loosing 220 pounds. its allowing me to tell how many calories I burn daily just by living. Cant exercise yet... Just walking is an ordeal but I am moving more and trying to achieve the exercise required to burn 3000 calories... The website has excellent tools for investigating food and determining my goals.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can young children wear this?

I dont know... depends on if they are likely to put it in their mouth. Probably over ten... The mechanism sits in a rubber housing and is removable once removed it would be about an inch and a half long and about half an inch wide. Definately swallowable.

Not water proof only water resistant.
