Our Century Link modem went out due to a lightening strike. Called Century Link and they couldn't come out for 5 days. I called BB-Geek Squad and they confirmed they had this modem in stock. Drove 1 hr to BestBuy and 1 hr back. Called Actiontec for support - configured in 10 mins.
The modem setup requires CenturyLink settings which I had gotten -- Actiontec confirmed the settings. I took some screen shots and created a doc in case it happened again. Sure enough a week later another storm - this time I was holding the modem in my hand when the 3rd strike hit nearby. I jumped and so did the modem. It didn't come back on, but the doc screens I made had me running in 5 mins.
I will buy a spare next time in BB.

I would recommend this to a friend!

How is this router with playing xbox one

here is the info in their FAQ:
Will my Xbox work with the Actiontec Modem or Router?
Yes, Actiontec Modems and Routers are compatible with the Xbox. However, it may be necessary to forward the ports used by the Xbox, in the Actiontec Modem or Router. Without Port Forwarding, the Xbox Connection Test may report a "NAT" rating of "STRICT" or "MODERATE", rather than "OPEN".

4 Ethernet ports?

Hi. I know there's 4 ports. I connected my laptop to the first port. Does that mean I have to connect another computer to the 2nd port. Or do we share port 1?

You can connect one computer to each of the 4 ports.
You can alternatively connect a hub to one of the 4 ports and have another 4, 8, 16 ports (although you will be sharing that 'line')
You can also have wireless connection

Where can I find the access code. I have had mine so long I forgot.

If you are asking for the setup screen IP address - try 192.168.0.1

If that doesn't give your the Actiontec setup screen then contact Actiontec support

I am needing to replace my isp provided router with one that has QOS capability. Does this modem/router have that option?
