I tend to stick with Seagate hard drives as they seem to last longer than others. This one installed and worked with no problems.

Someone in the house would always lose the remote so having one on my iPhone is an awesome thing!
The remote controls my TV, Blue Ray player, Bose sound system, even my MAC Mini (I run Plex home theater on it). The remote is programmable, and lets you control multiple things with one button click. For example, when I want to watch a movie on Plex, it switches the TV to that input, and turns on the Bose system for the sound. No more fumbling around with multiple remotes any more.
There is a downside though. The iPhone buttons are more sensitive, so I tend to accidentally change channels when I don't want to. I've gotten used to this over time, so it happens a lot less now, so it's no big deal.
All in all, it's well worth the money, especially if you have someone in the family that constantly loses the remote!

I work in IT and need to connect to the serial port of the devices, as well as connect to my Davis weather station from my Macbook. I was able to download the Windows and Mac drivers and this worked as it was supposed to...no headaches.

Harmony Smart Control RF question
Can it communicate RF to the hub then IR to the devices? How does the IR blaster connect to the hub? Can you get IR emitters to attach to the front of each device you want to control so you can keep everything centralized in a rack? If so how do they connect to the hub and where do you buy them? Can I see a drawing of the connections points?
Yes, it can. The IR blaster plugs into the back of the hub. You place the IR blaster in the cabinet so it's at least not buried, and it'll work just fine.

Can I use this to control my pc that's connected to my tv?
If I were to connect my PC to my HDTV by HDMI cable (they are 2 rooms away from each other), would this remote let me control the pc from that distance? There are several walls and no direct line of sight between the tv & pc. I simply want to view videos that are on my pc, but on my tv in the other room. I just have no way of controlling the pc from that room.
Yes, I have Plex running on my Mac Mini and this remote has a mouse (touch screen) built right in. Keyboard too. They both work well.
