My family is trying to get away from using the microwave for cooking, but still like one for reheating. This model is spacious inside and has a nice turntable dish. Easy cooking buttons as well as a button for 30 second reheat that I really like. Easy to clean and very happy with so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

why doesnt the zero button work??

BOUGHT THIS FOR MY 87 YEAR OLD MOTHER WHO LIVES 300 MILES AWAY ..SHE CANT PUT IN 10 MINUTES BECAUSE THE ZERO BUTTON SAY KITCHEN TIMER ON TOP OF BUTTON AND WHEN SHE PRESSES IT TIMER COMES ONNOT THE ZERO SHE NEEDS..CALLED SERVICE DEPT AND THEY SAID THE R-309YK SERIES DOESNT HAVE A BUTTON THAT SAYS KITCHEN TIMER..I BOUGHT THIS BECAUSE IT WAS SIMPLE THE PICTURE OF THE CONTROLS DOESNT SHOW KITCHEN TIMER WORDING ABOVE THE ZERO BUTTON..NOT SURE WHATS GOING ON BUT THIS IS NOT THE MICROWAVE PICTURED..WOULD LIKE THE ZERO BUTTON WITHOUT THE KITCHEN TIMER ON IT..
The zero button does have the words 'kitchen timer' over it, but when the number 1 is pressed, followed by three zeros, and then the START button depressed, the microwave begins cooking a 10 minute cycle.

Perhaps she is in the wrong mode? Maybe in the timer or clock mode? Try having her press the Stop/Clear button, then 1000, followed by START. Or try 9:59. Good luck!
