What's great about it: Protects Air from falls
What's not so great: Splash proof not water proof
This is a great beginner case for iPad Air until you can get the LifeProof case. It protects the iPad well from scratches, falls etc. it's pretty rugged. The kickstand is a little too narrow for real world viewing angles. That surprised me. It otherwise does exactly what it says. But at $80 I strongly suggest you get the LifeProof case. Same level of protection plus it's actually water proof (like underwater photography). Otherwise it's a good beginner case ;)
I would recommend this to a friend!

How do you use the camera function without removing the case?

The camera is not blocked by the case at all in either side ;)
