This is a great house phone if you don't want multiple phones. It only comes with one phone and the base. You can play the messages off the phone and it doesn't have to be charging on the base.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Are the handset buttons, end and talk button backlit?

All of the buttons are big and they light up. Same with the caller id screen.

There was no battieries that came with the phone. You plug it in.
