What's great about it: Small size with lots of storage
What's not so great: Nothing so far
Use this external drive for backing up songs and pictures. Worked great right out of the box. No installation issues. Using it on Windows Vista and Windows 8.1.
This product has... Large capacity/good size, Quiet
About me... Work with large multimedia files, Need a simple backup solution
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does this drive need to be partitioned in order for Vista or W7 to recognize it?

No, I used it straight out of the box. Vista and 8.1 recognized it at its full capacity.
