Had originally had a Lifeforce recommended by another store's rep. In two years it had warped to the point it wouldn't stay sealed. This case is much more stout, and so far has provided protection equal to or greater than that $80 Lifeforce.

Like many, our TV is in the family room, so not a whole lot of room to place a good total cinema surround system. We were getting a beautiful picture from our Samsung 55-inch plasma, but it's sound reproduction was seriously lacking. After many reviews of bars in this price range, I went with the Denon. Ordering and shipping experience was easy and hassle-free. Set-up was even easier. We've been extremely satisfied since!

Easy cable to work with. Only advice would to be sure that you've unrolled it and allow it to warm up if phishing through walls.

What's great about it: Clarity, beautiful finish
What's not so great: No detriments noted so far
Nice big display. Very clear with vibrant colors, rock-solid text imaging, and good refresh rate (no real noticeable 'flutter' while viewing 'moving' media (stream feeds, movie files, etc). Very good value (esp. since it was on sale!). Would recommend.

Does the Denon sound bar come with wall mount and everything I will need to hang it on the wall?

Wall-mounting is accomplished via 'key-holes' in the backside of the unit. A template is provided for proper spacing of the mounting hardware.

do the cables needed to connect the sound bar come with it and do you need a receiver

Comes with more cables than you will need for the installation. No receiver needed, works off the TV's audio driver.

Can you control volume with TV remote?

I have DirecTV, and it's remote handles the volume and mute controls; which is all I want it to control.

Is dialog clear?

Most of these reviews focus on the quality of sound when listening to music. Many people want/need a soundbar to compensate for the poor dialog sound coming from their TV, since dialog is, apparently, delivered to the center channel that many thin TVs lack. So...how does the Denon s514 handle dialog?
For the most part it handles dialogue very well. The only shows I have any difficulties with are those speaking the King's English (Outlander, Game of Thrones, etc), but then again that's not a new problem for me. In these cases I adjust to one of the other listening modes, or decrease volume on the sub-woofer.

Does the monitor have an adjustable head?

I'd like to know if it can be adjusted vertically to better conform to my head?
Yes, thought majority of available tilt is up/back, not down.
