So far, I'm really pleased with this purchase. The oven cooks a lot more even and faster than my very old former range. Read reviews that the buttons for the oven were hard to press, have not found that to be a problem for me. Asthetically very pleasing other than it does show fingerprints but nothing a quick wipe down won't fix. Am very pleased right now, but have only had it about a month.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does the griddle pan sort of "lock" into place on grates in the middle? Or is up to you to center it correctly?

I have found the griddle to be a little bit of a pain to situate. There is a point at which you "know" that it is settled in the correct place but I find myself moving it around more than I want to to actually get it there. I'm hoping I'll get a lot faster after I do it a few more times.

Does the oven have a preheat timer or some other type of notification?

Yes. The timer will beep six times once your oven has reached the desired temperature.
