I have purchased 2 in 2 years and is a great alternative to renting additional satellite boxes when you have HDTV in adjoining rooms. 6$ / box / month will pay back quickly.

Should I buy the Bose 301 system or start over

I have a Sony surround sound system that came in a box, some middle ear deafness as a result of a hand grenade going off near me....I have had a really nice yamaha amp, and simple but good speakers in the past, will the 301 system improve what I have, or should I start over with components, and add speakers that fit those components? Seems like the surround systems are just trying to do too much at one time.
Bose speakers work best at 6 ohm impedance outputs from receiver. Purchasing a new receiver now usually has speaker impedance from 6 - 16,000 ohms and is worth the added cost to make these speakers pop.

Need to know how much area will it covered?

I am talking about approx 600 sq. feet area where I want to setup two bose 301 stereo speakers. but I do not have idea the capacity of the said speakers whether will it covered the same area with full sound or should I go for another BOSE speakers...
I placed 4 301's in a 800 Sq ft garage. Seems like the perfect fit. Used eyebolts into ceiling with cut 3/4" Rachet straps to suspend in air and optimize spacial sound. WOW!! Added 12" subwoofer for deep base.
