do ethernet ports work even when wireless modem is turned off

to reduce exposure we turn off wireless modem when not in use. Would the Ethernet ports still be on?
If you are turning off the wireless network broadcasting then yes the ethernet ports are still active as long. But if you are powering down the modem completely, then they go off.

i'm holding Verizon Fios connection, is this router compatible to it?
No, this is strictly used for DSL/ADSL internet providers.

is it comcast/xfinity compatible

and does it have battery back up
No, will not work because does not have an ethernet port dedicated connection for connecting Cable Modem. This is strictly for DSL/ADSL internet. Unit does not have battery backup
