I've got a small window and the only way any of these might fit is if I install them vertical of the photo. Is that doable or is there one that can be?

How quiet is it?

I would like a small quiet one

On low fan setting it is fairly quiet. On high fan setting it is noisy. Not very good for bedroom sleeping.

How many inches in length do the spacers extend on each side of the unit?

The unit is 18 1/2 inches wide. The maximum widow width is 36 inches. That gives you about 8 1/2 inches per side.

Is it possible to buy extender window fill-in pieces for a wider window?

I am looking to buy this unit for my apartment bedrooms. But, the windows are 51" wide, so that the extender piece that comes with it will be much too short. Does anyone know whether additional extender pieces can be used?

You can make extenders for the sides out of 1/2 inch plywood or other suitable material.

Can this unit be used for an in-wall installation?

My new room in the apartment I recently moved into already has an in-wall AC steel holder installed.

Yes. You may have to fit a panel above unit if the opening is larger than the A/C size.

Is there an outside drain plug on this unit?

Is there a drain plug to be removed before using air conditioner? Most of my other air conditioners had a drain plug to drain the condensation out. I did not see one for this model nor was it shown in the set up guide in the instruction book sent with unit.
