This is a minimum power back up. Does the job.

This is a minimum power back up that does the job.If you have need for the power to continue uninterruptedly for more than a couple of minutes after a power failure then you should buy the bigger unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My old E650R UPS from APC had a Powerchute s/w package and online status

My original E650R from APC had a nice Powerchute software monitor which hooked in via the dataport... this new system mandates that no connection be made through the dataport (manufacturing only??). Is there any means of monitoring status from my laptop????
My googling showed that Powerchute is no longer provided with new units and appears to be unneeded with them.
