While You Were Sleeping [DVD] [1995]
While You Were Sleeping [DVD] [1995]
While You Were Sleeping unfortunately suggests what Hollywood Pictures was doing when its home video department released this DVD. With no extras on it beyond the original theatrical trailer, the Sandra Bullock romantic comedy is the only component of the disc. At least the film is available in its 1:85 widescreen and the transfer is well done. The audio is Dolby Surround, but it's neither digitally encoded nor 5:1. Such a commercially successful film warranted production notes or perhaps commentary by director Jon Turteltaub. Unfortunately, the DVD was released below the radar of the studio and even Sandra Bullock fans. The film has a French language track and a Spanish subtitle option.

What's great about it: She's happy with it
What's not so great: I don't mind if I have to watch it with her
Overall, this is a decent film. Mostly a romantic comedy, but it will hold your attention until the end. My wife had seen this years ago, but we didn't own the DVD, so I bought it for her recently.

What's great about it: Easy to play
What's not so great: Repetitive
I have been playing this co-op with my 5-year-old-daughter, and she's having a lot of fun with it. She loves unlocking new costumes (especially any of the female avatars), and we have been working together to unlock all of the worlds you can play in.
The various levels have some variety, but the gameplay itself gets rather repetitive. However, it is pretty easy to play, and if you lose all of your health, you respawn right away only losing some of your coins that you've collected (the coins are used for unlocking costumes and levels).

What's great about it: Easy to install and inproves the controller design
What's not so great: Not great for smaller hands
I read a number of positive reviews of these button kickers and decided to give them a try. If you play a lot of games that use R2/L2 (such as racing or FPS), these are an excellent addition to your controller.
The only downside I can think of is that they do extend the size of R2/L2, so if you have small hands or share a controller with a child, it may make the controller more difficult to manage.

What's great about it: Graphics, gameplay, characters, and environments.
What's not so great: I don't know how they'll improve on this one for a fourth game.
Technologically, this game is a masterpiece - It's a great way to show off what your PS3 can do. I was constantly amazed at what they were able to achieve with this game, and I plan to play through it a second time just to experience it all again.
The gameplay is largely the same as the previous two games, with some tweaks and improvements made here and there.
I don't know if I enjoyed the story as much as I did with the first two games (especially the second), but the writing is still far better than most other games.
Overall, it's a fantastic game though, and I have very few complaints. I played through it on Hard, which I'd recommend if you've already played the previous two games. Apart from a few tricky areas, I thought that the difficulty was a pretty fair challenge.

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North - Xbox 360
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North - Xbox 360
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is a co-op Action RPG that immerses you and your friends in a brutal new chapter in the War of the Ring. Snowblind Studios is in the unique position of drawing inspiration from both the literary and film rights to world of Middle-earth, allowing players to bloody their axes on a wide range of deadly enemies and traverse both established and never-before-seen locations. The result is a journey that is both epic and intimate, familiar yet unexpected.

Overall, I'm having fun with this one.

What's great about it: Good co-op gameplay
What's not so great: Probably not that great for single-player since the storyline is somewhat weak.
The story could definitely use some work, but overall it's a fun game, especially if played in co-op. I've only played two-player co-op so far, but I think having all three characters controlled by human players would make this game a lot of fun.

What's great about it: Immersive environments, and very fast-paced.
What's not so great: Short single-player experience, but co-op and multiplayer help round it out.
A good game overall, but not necessarily the ground-breaking experience you might be expecting.

What's great about it: Fabulous graphics, story, and overall art direction!
What's not so great: Gameplay can get a bit tedious at times. Limited enemy types, so you fight the same few enemies over and over again.
Although perhaps slightly over-hyped, Bioshock is an incredible game. The art direction throughout is fantastic, and the mood of the game environments sucks you in.
The story contains some of the best writing ever found in a video game, with plot twists you never see coming.
Well worth the $60, even though replay value is limited.
