My previous Samsung tablet died so this one was a replacement. I was hoping that they had improved the email processing so that it was more convenient to delete them. My Samsung phone allows just swiping to delete emails. Why did I think that might be similar in the tablet? Silly me. I get a lot of junk in my email and it is just irritating having to process them over and over from one device to another. Otherwise it is a stellar device.

I got this primarily to track how I am sleeping, but I find that it has got me up moving and exercising more. I like the personalized feedback and challenges. What a great idea! I don't know how it compares with the other devices, but at less than $50, it suits my needs very nicely. It occasionally has trouble linking up with my phone and I have to monkey with it to get it to do so. but it does so eventually, so all is good. And yes, I find that I am not sleeping well, but have been able to implement some strategies to improve that too. It is interesting how it can tell when I am sleeping deeply or lightly, and when I wake up (4-6 times a night with hot flashes-drat it). But I like knowing where I am with things. I am less stressed about not sleeping well. Knowledge is power!

I debated getting an IPhone. I think this one is easier to use, personally. I had an S4 that was locked into the server without a contract. I found the coverage less than special so I switched back to ATT. The upgrades from S4 to S5 are significant. I am not sorry I switched.

The Otter is sturdy and protective. It gives something to grip and feels secure in handling. The Samsung S5 without protection is one slippery bugger. I don't think it would survive long without something. I would recommend this one. It comes in a variety of colors and is not the most expensive, nor is it the cheapest of cell phone protection. I had an S4 with an Otter. Of course they changed the size so I had to buy a new one.

What's great about it: Internet connectivity
What's not so great: It does not have an alarm clock feature like my old bedroom TV did
I needed to replace my old bedroom TV that was an old RCA 13' clunker. I wanted to be able to stream video and Pandora also. I have a larger Vizio TV as my primary TV already, so I was familiar with what it could do in that regard. I went looking for a smaller one and found this 29" one that fits the bill nicely. Imagine the upgrade from a 13" to a 29" screen! It was the smallest one that they had and is more than sufficient for me to listen to the days news and weather in the mornings. It looks huge to me and I cannot imagine a larger TV in that space.
The only thing that I wish that it had is a wake up timer like my old RCA had. It does have a sleep timer though. But that is not the same thing. It also has capability to be used as a computer monitor, although I have not used it for that yet. The sound was not highly rated on consumer reports, but I find it more than adequate for my uses.

do you need to be connected to a computer to work this product?
The computer is only necessary for updates and downloads. But the data only will show on your smart phone. So I think that somehow, yes, the computer is necessary, but I am not exactly sure how and why. I would rather look at my data on my laptop, but I have not been able to figure out how to do that yet. My laptop Bluetooth is not sensing the device for some reason. But it works great with the phone.

Tracking
How far away can your android be for this to track correctly?
If your Bluetooth can pick it up it can link. That varies from phone to phone. Obviously the closer it is the better. But my Samsung Galaxy has linked when my phone was upstairs and I was downstairs. That is a bit of distance anyway. If you have Bluetooth speakers you could test that theory easily. But I don't have those, so I am not really sure of the limits exactly.

Can you see your progress on the tracker?
It has a little light that shows where you are % wise in your goal when you press the button once. It makes a difference whether it is upside down or not though, and my dyslexic brain can not make sense of it usually. When you hit a goal the lights flash around the wheel several times. Hope that answers your question.

Can you use a keyboard on this TV?
Not unless you have it connected to your computer as a monitor.
