Can this device be used as a wireless access point plugged into a LAN on an existing wired network?

Will the router interfere with the wired router that manages the wired network?

Yes it works great as an access point. I have this router connected to my wired LAN and I have no issues with any wireless or wired devices that want to connect to the internet.
