If you are planning to mount your flat screen TV on a wall, a swivel HDMI cable connector like this a must. This one only swivels in one direction however and works great if that's what you need. I should add that the price was reasonable compared to other makes.

The 4th generation Apple TV is a great place to access all of your iTunes files, watch movies and all that. More importantly, at least for cord cutters, it can be your main source for entertainment, especially when combined with its apps to access the Tablo over the air tuner and the Plex media aggregator when you abandon your cable and satellite tuners. It can also save you money.

The Echo simply performs as advertised. The function that prompted the purchase was integration with the Harmony remote I use for my home theater system. Once installed, I discovered some of the other things the Echo can do. As an example, it has the ability to control my Phillips Hue lighting system components that help set the mood in the theater. It isn't perfect but the list of capabilities continues to grow. You will like it.
