This laptop worked well, but put the Windows 10 onto a flashdrive and then installed Linux Mint operating system. Everything works great and very, very fast. It was a bit tricky, but well worth the effort and price. Have a top functioning machine now.

Using this cable TV amplifier, running 2 lines about 200 ft each, between cable TV line, already running through a four-way splitter, feeding 3 TV sets. Picture and audio are quite clear. I've had other amplifiers and this ranks the best. It cost a bit more than what you can pick up at hardware stores, but it's better quality. Very pleased with this purchase.

The price was very reasonable as it was on sale, but I actually paid less than $2 for it. I had a $5 rewards certificate that was about to expire, so this flash drive cost me almost nothing. I find the case design easy to handle, and the 3.0 speed useful for quick data transfer.

I had tried cheaper devices to try to pick up a stronger wifi signal, but to no avail. I truly did not expect this device to do any better, or if it did, not a good improvement. I was quite surprised to find that it really does increase the signal power to my laptops, that had not worked until I used this device. I followed the directions for setting it up, and it pretty much did all the configuring on it's own. I powered it up within about 20 feet of the modem/router until the lights lit up, then I moved it to a point about midway to the problem laptops, and they picked up the increased wifi signal. For me, it works very well and I get plenty of signal now for all my devices. I'm not a gamer, but I do like to stream movies, and that works fine. It has crossed my mind that perhaps the costlier models might work even better, should your problem be more severe than mine? Just a thought. This one is perfect for my needs.

Had to replace this device when the prior one, (Motorola), failed. Appears only the name has changed to Arris. The device looks exactly the same, and in the same box. I did notice that the range of the signal was a little less, so I had to purchase a $45 plug in range extender to make the signal reach all my wifi devices. Actually, with the new range extender, I now have better signal than ever. That's why I gave the four stars instead of the full five stars to the Arris modem/router. Other than the slight decrease in signal from the previous device, the Arris is doing a fine job connecting up my cable supplied internet system.

Senior user in nursing home, needed a laptop to play card games and watch Netflix. Her favorite card game is a solitaire version put out by Microsoft, with which she is familiar. The only other need is for Netflix. One of the big problems with her failed laptop, was that the wifi card was too weak to pick up the signal, much of the time. This laptop is much better, and plays her Netflix without problems. She's quite happy with this purchase; and the price was decent. Good for her minimal needs.

Does the keyboard have "back lighting". In other words, is there lighting under the keys so that you can see the keyboard easier?
No it does not have backlit keyboard. I bought two of these computers; Dell Inspiron 3558, 15 3000 series. Both work very well.

What color are the plastic parts of this drive?
The description says this Flash Drive is BLACK. Yet , the picture shown appears to be a speckled light gray or ivory color. Can anyone verify this?
The drive I bought was black, with an electric blue glide cap.

max distance from router that this will work
I can't say what the max distance would be, but I can describe how I'm using the device. My modem/router is about 50' unobstructed to a metal camper and metal utility trailer. There are laptops in each. The problem was in the utility trailer. The door of the trailer faced away from the router, so I used this device about 45' from the router, with antennas toward the door of utility trailer. Worked great. Now have good strong wifi signal for those laptops. (I use the utility trailer as an office.)

Is 4gb a lot of storage?
4gb ram relates more to online web page loading. 6gb, 8gb, 16gb ram machines each increase in speed and amounts of multiple web page loading, respectively. The amount of storage relates to the 1tb capacity, which is where the document data, photos, videos, and movies are stored on the machine. That's usually plenty of storage for the normal user.
Basically, 4gb ram is just average.

how do you enter the bios
Shut down machine. Hit the button to power up, and immediately push the function key and keep tapping the f2 key. That should load the set up screen, and into BIOS. If Windows loads, you have not succeeded. To try again, repeat the above steps. On some machines, it's the f1 key, and on others it can be the f12 key. The trick is tapping the right key as quickly as you power up the machine. Too late, and you wind up going into Windows.
