It will not pair to all my blue enabled devices and those that it does pair to not all the functions work such as voice commands!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can this headset be used with a Sprint phone, for example, a Note 3, or is it solely for Verizon phones?

Carrier wise it doesn't matter each phone though will be a trail and error for the pairing. I have multiple phones it won't work with all them and they are all on the same carrier.
