Needed a small fridge for kitchen size and this model fits nicely. Runs quiet and works well. Freezer space is a bit too small. Have to stack things and it's difficult to find what you want or to see what is available.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

How is the finish on the black model? Smooth and glossy, or textured so it doesn't show fingerprints?

Smooth and glossy. Fingerprints and smudges clean off nicely, certainly better than similar stainless fronts.
