I pay $150+ for my comcast services... I bought the Apple TV for less than $100 and it's less than $20 a month for Netflix and Hulu. I end up using my Apple TV 95 % more than my cable. 5-5 and thumbs up Apple for creating an awesome TV entertainment!

Will the mounting brackets work for hanging from the ceiling, or are there separate brackets for hanging from the ceiling?
These will be used as the rear channels in a 7.1 system, replacing old Bose 201's
They are for both... Be careful putting the speakers on the ceiling though, they're heavy enough to leave a good mark on your head if you have butter fingers.

Can I use these speakers with my desktop computer?
Easy answer, No... technically you could. but it'd be easier to get $100 bose computer speakers that hook directly into your 3.5mm input soundcard... Good luck to you!

Will it plug directly into your TV?
It depends on which television you have... If your TV has a built in surroud hook ups then yes... but usually the flat screens don't have built in surround sound hook ups...

What is the impedance of these speakers and will they work with a TC-8 switch?
I have a pair of these already and they work well. I am thinking of buying a second pair for a different room and using a TC-8 2-way stereo speaker control I purchased to flip between the two (using either pair at a time not both). However, the TC-8 switch says it is only compatible with min 8ohm speakers. Will it work with the Bose 161 speakers?
Yes, but I'd be careful about turning up the power too much, you could rip the cones in half.

Can I use these speakers with an old Marantz Stereo 2215 Receiver ca. 1972
The plate on the back of the receiver says 140 Watts. Don't know about ohms etc.
I wouldn't.... 70's receivers don't have AUTO OHM conversion.. You could easily blow the speakers out, and then you wouldn't be able to enjoy them.

Yes, as long as you match up the wires correctly (positive goes to positive and negative goes to negative) then it will work... Mind you, the receiver will only pump out an "X" amout of power.. The Bose system is made specifically for the satellite speakers.. Good luck!

You can, but the ohm read-out might not give your speakers the "UMPH" that they deserve...

looking to buy router under 150dollars is this one one of the best also looking at netgear 750
This is as best as you can get for a Router.... Don't skimp.. I ended up getting a "middle of the road" last time, and my internet streaming was buffering like crazy! I'd definitely get this router, if not a higher one up.

I have an old Kenwood receiver. Can I use these speakers with a Kenwood KR 4400?
Yes, you most certainly can. BOSE USES 8 ohms.. So there should be a switch in the back to switch it from 4-6 to 8 ohms. The newer receivers (2009 and newer) have a built in ohm converter. You can't blow up the speakers, but it just won't sound good unless you switch the ohm switch
