Can pods (detergent) be used in the Samsung front loader? It shows liquid or powder but does not mention pods.

You could, but you use so little detergent in these washers the pods would tend to be an unnecessary or even a waste. a great washer.

okay to put upstairs?

I am concerned about vibration if this washer is installed upstairs in my home. I have always had a top loading washer and have heard that front loaders vibrate so much that they can't be put on the second floor.
should be great up stairs, if you properly adjust the spin needed for size of load, tempting to use fast spin, but slower spins work great, as i said depending on size of load.
