Works as expected and just the right length to wire a 5.1 speaker setup in my living room. If you have a big room you may need more cable. If you only have a 2.0/2.1 setup you won't need this much cable.

Is there any additional equipment or cords that I need to purchase to use this speaker with my current surround system?
Depends on if your receiver has a center channel speaker output and you will need speaker cable.

can these be hooked up to a desk top computer?

Yes if you use an amplifier or a receiver that accepts 3.5 mm input from your speaker output jack.

How do I exactly connect these to my tv?

You would either use an amplifier or a receiver and connect these to it and the TV to the amp/receiver.

6 ohms impedance speakers w/ 8 ohms amp

I currently have a 10 yr. old amp (Pioneer VSX-D812) and looking at these Pioneer Floor Speakers, which are 6 ohm impedance. The manual notes w/ an 'Important' icon: "Use speakers with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms to 16 ohms". Is that a recommendation? Do you foresee any issues w/ this set-up?

Thanks for any responses and advice.
I have seen amps die because the speakers are the wrong impedence. I would follow the manual's guidelines.

How easy are these to hook up to an iphone or a computer?

You'll need a receiver that has HDMI inputs and your computer must connect to it via HDMI. You could also use an amplifier that accepts 3.5 mm input and connect your computer to it with a 3.5mm headphone cable. Same with the iPhone but you'll need bluetooth functionality or a 3.5mm input on the receiver.

Most likely you'll need a receiver to go with it unless your TV has proper speaker wire outputs.
