I'd be wary of using this speaker box in an automobile for a couple of reasons. First is the difference in power supply, (AC vs DC) and the second involves product construction. I doubt that this was designed to deal with the potholes and the constant vibration that comes with daily driving. You can buy inexpensive lights that'll flash in concert with the songs you play for a lot less money than you'd expect. Adding 8 ohm speakers to a 4 ohm audio system will eventually burn out the head unit or melt wires behind the dash. Even running a power inverter constantly will tax your electrical system. This could cause damage to your alternator and/or battery.
