I have two chromecasts and 2 firesticks now, and I liked the firestick better than the chomecast. Among the advantages are: remote control, standalone device (no need of cel, tablet), it has amazon prime, and several other apps that chome doesn't. I don't have apple tv or roku, so I can't compare it to them. And I bought the fire stick in the amazon prime promotion and at best buy in bf, so I got them cheaper than the chomecasts.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have followed all directions but get no smart tv it just goes back to station that was on tv when starting this process...

can't fiigure out what I am doing wrong. I have 4 HDMI ports. My cable box is plugged into #2. I plugged FireTV into #4. Does this make a difference?
It doesn't make any difference. Just plug it to one hdmi port and select the source on your tv to that hdmi port. And you should be ready to go.
