If you are buying this item for music it is great but if you are buying this item to talk be careful I have had a few and all disconnect from calls and the range is not that great but when it disconnects its almost as if it mutes you while you can hear them but they can not hear you.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

yes, is there anyway that the headset can give me an alert notification like when i get a text message

I had a bluetooth before now I have purchased the hbs750 just because i was tired of the thing being in my ear all day. i need it to give me a notification when i get a text and not just the incoming call or the out of range vibration
It does give out text notification its just sound so it would have to be in your ear to hear it.
