All around the chromecase is an extremely easy to use device. Allowing anyone with a smartphone or tablet to push their media content to a big screen.

They break the single player down into "Episodes". Essentially once you beat a level it ends that episode and gives you a preview of the next. This is great as it feels like you are taking part in an action packed TV show.

Why Chromecast if most streaming services are supported by my TiVo and DVD player?

Between my aging TiVo Premier and Panasonic DVD player, I have built-in apps to stream Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, YouTube, Cinema Now, Amazon Instant Video, and others.

Why would I otherwise use Chromecast other than directly displaying occasional live content from a PC or Android device?

Just checking to see if I'm missing something in my understanding! Thanks.
You will have portability with the Chromecast. I have 2, and I still take one around to other tv's once in a while. I would also say the user experience may be better when streaming through a phone or tablet using the chromecast as opposed to the app versions made by Tivo or Panasonic.
