I have a older 1 TB WD and it works just fine. I use it on my Win Laptop. This is now on my Mac Tower. I do not expect it to be any different. I also just bought a 1TB pocket WD for my daughters Mac Air. Her Birthday gift.
She was thrilled. So was I .

I blew a laptop drive. This SS Drive 250G was priced in the budget. Opened up the back ...slipped out the old ... slipped in the SS 250G and closed ti up. Loader the WIN 8.1 DISK. It loaded easily ... updated easily. Caught a virus in a download somewhere. No Big deal ran a scan and proof it was history. The boot up was about a minute fortyish.... with the SS 250G it is 23 seconds. The heat is down ... the speed is up... SO what is to think about? If some 70 year old wannabe geek can load it ... what are you waiting for?

Will this work with Windows XP? Desktop is XP and laptop is Windows 7.

I used a smaller ! TB WD on my laptop with Win 7 and Win 8 and now on Win 10. It is USB so it fits any computer with USB as far as I know.

Will this work with a Satellite A665?

I use a 1 TB WD and a 500MG WD Pocket on the same laptop. No problems in the last several years. I did with out the HD to a Toshiba SS 256 HD. Much faster and with Win 10 it smokes.

Can this replace my HD from Toshiba Satellite L855D-S5117 HD? Win 8.1

Original HD is 500GB. Upgrading it. Win 8.1. Have disks to install original apps etc. Maxed out Memory @ 16GB.
I loaded it in aToshiba Satellite A665 I 7 Quad .. 8 gigs of ram. Easy as eating ice cream. Do a fresh install booting form the CD. Add in your Wifi ... go to Toshiba and get another item you need in support.
