Does everything we wanted it to and the warranty is excellent. Just don't let a contractor to your cable company touch it when they are hooking up cable. Our cable guy fried it. However, the manufacturer replaced with no problems.

Good overall quality. Picture quality is great and is everything we were looking for. The sound quality is good but the volume quality is really bad. I would have preferred something I could actually hear without having to turn it up over halfway. Not a good television if you have small children that tend to get loud.

can i turn off the wireless capability of the modem and use a separate wireless router?

I don't believe you can. If the wireless router that you have is provided by your service provider, then you can replace that one with this one and save the monthly fee that your provider charges. From my experience, this device works much better than the one that your provider offers.

Download speed coming in is 105, why is wireless download speed only 30?

Internet is Comcast Extreme 105. Ethernet connection to router produces download speeds around 88Mbps. However wireless download speeds range from 10.5 Mbps to 38 Mbps. How can I increase the wireless download speed? Will this router be sufficient or should I look for a different one?
I would call your service provider. If you are not getting the proper download speed with a direct connection, then there may be an issue. You are going to get a slower wireless connection but you should be getting the full speed when direct wired.

Told to upgrade modem with Cox.

Do I need to or should I purchase a modem/router unit or just the new 3.0 modem and continue to use my current router?

With the service provider that we use, it is only necessary to have this device. A separate device is not necessary. If it is, your service provider should provide you with that.

easy to install?

I do no have all the computer smarts.can a woman install this or. Do I need a tech?
Lol. I am a woman, and yes a woman can install it. it is very simple. You just plug it into the wall and plug your service cable into it and that's it. If you have a smart TV, you will need an Ethernet cord to plug into the device and the TV. Any other WiFi device should just require the password.

Does Wave Broadband in WA State support this cable modem

You will have to call and check with your service provider. Usually you can give them a model number and they can look it up and tell you right over the phone before you purchase it. It should be supported.

Receive decent signal strength, but Internet Smart Apps times out in 15 minutes.

Is this a modem/router issue or Internet Service Provider? Samsung Smart TV is located within 35 feet, receives a good signal for 15 minutes then it drops out.
Northland Communications is Cable provider, get decent speed, anywhere from 12MBPS - 21MBPS wireless.
This is a service provider issue. I have a 50 Mbps speed for my service and we don't have any issues with our device not matter what room in the house we are in. Our neighbor has even connected to it.

Does it work with Time Warner phone service?

I have TV, Internet, & phone. Can it work with all three services?
It does have jacks for all three devices so it should work with any service provider that you have.

Does the unit have a switch to disable the wifi when not in use?

No it does not and it does not have a push button to connect other devices. You must manually input the information into your WiFi devices.
