Do not buy this if you are going to use it to connect a bluetooth mouse. It constantly cuts out when you move the mouse. Works fine for bluetooth to transfer things.

I have them on my 99 Harley road king mounted on the foot rest bar. Wife can hear them sitting behind me just fine. I hear them still when I am going 90mph

Yes this would be perfect for her use. Bought it for my wife in her massage shop and it works great for printing her invoices. It is just as good as my workforce 545 just not as fast. Plus it has separate ink cartridges so it will save money on ink

No you do not need to be connected via usb. It works through bluetooth and all controls work from receiver. As for radio fit i cannot answer it but its not recommended through crutchfield.com
