What's great about it: Sound, ergonomics, price, warranty
What's not so great: Center & Surround Speaker terminals are not Banana Plug
Having read numerous reviews from a wide variety of professional and owner websites, I decided to try the Yamaha. I am not disappointed. Yamaha (a slightly older model powers the main system) is justly known for their excellent sound--on movies, music and games. The user interface is very good and the unit runs at a very comfortable temperature. Quality, Price, Performance. It's all here, with only a few bells and whistles absent. You will not be disappointed with this unit.

Do I set amplifier to 4 or 8 ohm

I purchased an separate amplifier to run from my receiver to run 4 separate 8 ohm speaker pairs. The amplifier can be set at 4 or 8 ohm. Do I run the amp at 4 or 8 ohms.
Use the 8 ohm setting if your speakers are 6-8 ohms. Your power output to the speakers may be reduced, depending on your amplifier. Even 8 ohms is not a constant since speakers can vary resistance quite widely during playback, so if your speakers are listed as 8 or 6 ohms, I recommend the standard 8 ohm setting, but is it a nice bonus to have the 4 ohm option should you wish to connect 4 ohm speakers.
