Does the subwoofer have to have line of sight connection with the soundbar or can it be placed anywhere in the room?

I have the sub positioned at the back corner of our sofa which is not in direct sight of the sound bar itself .. Works perfectly .. Since it connects via Bluetooth, it doesn't matter
