This is a replacement for a crashed hard drive. At some point we'll move to a solid state boot drive, and we presently archive older valuable files on another device, so this 1 TB drive is larger than we will ever need. I would recommend strongly against buying a larger one; it is not necessary what with inexpensive network-attached-storage devices and soon-to-be ubiquitous solid state system drives. Always back up your data locally and irreplaceable items in the cloud too.

Our family has five devices and we ask the kids to leave them alone after 8:30 PM, at a charging station in our kitchen. Parents' devices go there too. We have three of these cords, which eliminate the "rat's nest" of full-length lightning cords there. They make it easy to grab phones and iPods in the morning semi-dark without getting tangled up with other devices.

Would this hard drive be compatible to a ps3 hard drive?

i need a hard drive for my ps3 and people say that any computer hard drive fits on a ps3. i wanna know if thats true
This is an old question but maybe someone could still benefit from a response. I am sure the PS3 uses a 2.5 inch drive. This is a 3.5 inch drive. If you are still uncertain, open up your box and look at the drive, and the connectors plugged in to it. Then use a search engine for images of "2.5 SATA" and "SATA cable" and the like and I think you'll know for certain. You might also remove the current drive and bring it in to Best Buy and I'm sure they would steer you correctly. I am just trying to be helpful; I don't have one of my own so I'm not an authority on these matters.
