I tested 4 different soundbars before landing on this one as my keeper. I tried the LG Atmos Soundbar (2017 model), Sony Atmos Soundbar (2017 model) and the Samsung HW-K950 sound bars. The Samsung was easily the best of those 3. But then I tested the Sonos Playbar + 1 Play:1s + Sonos subwoofer. I had it setup so I could literally press a button to switch back and forth between the Samsung and the Sonos. After EXTENSIVE testing, I decided that the Sonos setup outperformed the Samsung by a noticeable degree. Especially the surround sound. It is amazingly clean and rich. The bass is warmer, deeper and better tuned. All around, this is an amazing product by itself. But especially once you pair it with the subwoofer and two surround speakers.

This subwoofer sounds amazing! It has very rich bass, and no matter where I place it in my living room, you can't tell where the bass is coming from directly. It fills the space brilliantly, and adds a very warm addition to my Sonos PlayBar. I upgraded to a Sonos system from an older 5.1 component system which sported a 15" subwoofer. Not only is this new system extremely SLEEK and CLEAN looking, I actually prefer the sound for watching movies and listening to music. It is absolutely amazing.

I live in a rural area and cannot get normal WiFi, I have a hotspot for my home networking. How much will this effect the Sonos system? Is there any way to add bluetooth? Would I be better off going with the Bose 300? I want Sonos but isn't WiFi critical?
It totally depends on how good the WiFi is coming out of your Hotspot device. And yes the Sonos ecosystem relies heavily (nay REQUIRES) WiFi, unless you have a wired setup, which also works. What you COULD do is pick up a Wireless Router that has a USB input that supports Hotspot devices. They make them. Basically your Hotspot plugs into the router and feeds an internet signal into it. Then you have "normal" WiFi in your home that all of your devices use at the same time. You'd have to do a little research to find the right one, but they are definitely out there.
Personally, I would take the Sonos over the Bose. In the store demo, I thought it sounded a little better.

i have a funky shaped room , where the TV sits is a low roof area , where i sit , about 15 feet back, has a high ceiling . should i mount the sound bar out away from the TV ? it would be higher and 10-12 feet away . or should i mount it under the TV
Personally, I would still put it under the TV. That way the voices will sound like they are coming directly from the actor's mouths. Having said that-- the Sonos has a very nice system built in where it will "tune" your speakers based on the room you are in. It uses the App on your Smart Phone to do the tuning, which makes you walk around the room for a few minutes holding the phone up with its microphone. I didn't notice a HUGE difference when doing this in my own home, but there was definitely enough difference that I could tell something had changed. The surround was just better aimed and seemed to be timed better.

How many watts the sonos offers?
The wattage is not listed anywhere on purpose. However, I compared it to the 500 watt Samsung HW-K950 soundbar, and found that the Sonos was able to reach slightly higher volume levels than the Samsung. So if I had to guess, I would peg it somewhere close to 500 watts in total.

What is the wattage on this sub?
From all the research I have done, there is no place where the actual wattage of the Sonos products are listed officially. The only comparison I can give you is related to the Sonos Play Bar. I had a Samsung Atmos sound bar with surround sound, which was rated at 500 watts. My Sonos Play Bar gets a little bit louder. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that it is more than 500 watts, because there are other factors that can make it a bit louder than just wattage. But if I had to guess, I would guess that the Sonos Play Bar is close to 500 watts total, and the sub is probably in the 50-100 watt range.
